June 23 – With the future of CSKA Sofia now sealed in the amateur leagues but under the financial stewardship of Bugaria’s richest man Vasil Bozhkov, Turkish businessman Deniz Kiziloz (pictured) who several times tried to start negotiations with the club, said he now intends to invest in another Bulgarian club – Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
Kiziloz said he expects the deal with Lokomotiv to be finalised by the end of summer.
Currently Lokomotiv Plovdiv is managed by the Association ‘Future for Lokomotiv’. Nikolai Nedelev, president of the association, confirmed that there are ongoing negotiations with a new investor. Nedelev revently announced that the total monthly budget for salaries at Lokomotiv Plovdiv will amount to only BGN70,000 (€35,000)
In a public statement thanking supporters for their encouragement, Kizilov said: “Dear supporters and Turkish people in Bulgaria, I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who supported me and have sent me our best wishes, either by phone, Facebook or Instagram. It was incredible. I hope I can inspire you to succeed and achieve our dreams in Bulgaria. This is my official statement that I am not part of CSKA anymore and I won’t be part of CSKA in the future. On the other hand, we are in talks with Lokomotiv Plovdiv. I hope we can reach an agreement and will have a positive outcome at the end of summer.”
