African Nations Cup tickets to go on sale

December 17 – Tickets for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Angola next month will go on sale from next week at branches of the African Investment Bank (BAI) in the four host cities, it was announced today.

The cheapest ticket will cost 250 kwanzas (£1.50) for the general stands in the stadiums, according to José Carvalho, chief executive of Sinfic, the firm which will be in charge of selling the tickets.

The maximum price for the general stands is 1,040 kwanzas (£7), while for the executive boxes, the charges will start at 35,000 (£220).

During the competition, tickets will also be sold at the stadiums.

There had been concern that with the first match between Angola and Mali due to take place in Luanda on January 10 tickets still had not been made available to the public.

Carvalho said in Luanda, the tickets would be sold in six BAI branches, in Cabinda in the main branch, in Benguela at the Lobito branch, and in Huíla at the branch in Mapunda.
