April 16 – Japan have signed-up another three sponsors as its campaign to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup steps up a gear.
Fuji Television Network, Nikkei and Tokyo Broadcasting System Television have all thrown their weight behind the bid to bring the total number of sponsors to 15.
A spokesman for Japan 2018-2022 said: ”This gives the bid further momentum domestically.
“The three companies will provide a range of support for the Bid Committee in its efforts to bring the 2018/2022 FIFAWorld Cup to Japan.
“As Official Bid Partners, the companies fully understand the significance of Japan’s bid.
“The Bid Committee is hugely grateful for their support.
“The Japan 2018/2022 Bid Committee hopes to recruit more Official Bid Partners in the future to further strengthen its
bid.”
