January 20 – Russia look set to unveil details of their Organising Committee for the 2018 World Cup in St Petersburg on Sunday (January 23).
FIFA President Sepp Blatter and Russian football chiefs will first sign the official World Cup host country agreement before Blatter attends the final of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Baltic States Cup.
Blatter will be joined by Russia’s Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko and Alexei Sorokin, who led the country’s successful campaign to stage the World Cup and seems certain to play a prominent role in the Organising Committee.
