February 1 – The cost of tickets for Euro 2012 matches in Ukraine and Poland will cost from €30 (£26/$41) to €600 (£513/$828), UEFA revealed today as they launched the details of how fans could buy them.
UEFA hopes that about 75 per cent of the 1.4 million tickets for sale will be those purchased by local fans in Poland and Ukraine.
Ticket sales are due to open on March 1 and run until March 31 but fans can set-up a user account this month.
UEFA claim that all applicants have an equal chance of acquiring a ticket irrespective of when the application was made.
Once the application period is closed a lottery will be conducted if matches are oversubscribed – in the past, the demand for European Championship tickets has outstripped supply.
Individuals will receive information on their ticket application and allocation status throughout the process, via their accounts.
There are three types of tickets available.
There are individual match tickets, tickets for fans to follow a particular team during the tournament and tickets to allow spectators to attend specific venues during Euro 2012.
