April 19 – The draw for tickets to the Euro 2012 Championships, co-hosted by Ukraine and Poland, begins today following a record number of applications.
The deadline to apply for tickets for the tournament was March 31, and UEFA received 12 million bids covering 206 countries.
With just under 60 per cent of the total 1.4 million tickets up for grabs, almost 11 of every 12 applications will be unsuccessful.
Winners will be notified by e-mail no later than the end of this month.
But for those unlucky fans who do not win in the ballot, it is still possible to use an online page provided by UEFA after the draw is completed to exchange tickets already allotted to other fans.
