August 24 – Arsenal has agreed to renew its relationship with automotive partner Citroën for a further three years in a bid to strengthen the team’s international presence.

The deal expands on a previous agreement to see the French car giant promote the partnership outside of the UK, as the club looks to build up its profile in Europe and China, which are key growth markets for Citroën.

Linda Jackson, the managing director of Citroën UK, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with one of the most successful English football clubs, in what is an exciting time for us, having just launched the much-anticipated new DS4 model.

“Over the past three years, we have worked hard to bring alive our shared values of creativity, style and flair and we look forward to continuing this over the coming years.”

The Gunners’ head of global partnerships Vinai Venkatesham added: “We are delighted to announce that we are renewing our successful relationship with Citroën.

“Given the strength of our relationship, it was only natural that both parties wanted to extend and expand the partnership further.

“It’s an exciting time to be working with Citroën as they continue to roll out their award winning DS range, and we look forward to developing a number of joint initiatives to run throughout Europe and China.”

Arsenal stars Wojciech Szczęsny and Laurent Koscielny took part in a unique life size artwork depicting a goal celebration using Citroën C4 cars earlier this year, which was auctioned for the homeless charity Centrepoint in May.

Citroën will also provide vehicles for Arsenal staff on club business as part of the deal.
