November 14 – Switzerland have launched a new home kit in their match against the Netherlands.
The unveiling as Puma confirmed a long-term contract extension with the Swiss Football Association (SFV), to continue as the official technical partner to SFV in relation to replica kits and merchandise through to Euro 2016.
The agreement means that Puma, as they have done since 1998, will continue to be the official purveyor of playing kits and training equipment for all associated Swiss national teams while also extending the partnership into SFV grass roots and youth initiatives such as the Credit Suisse Football Academies.
Puma also claim that the new kit, similar to those supplied to Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and Uruguay, utilises an engineered mesh on the shirt’s front to “increase breathability”, while a technical fabric is used to “greatly improve moisture wicking tendencies”.
“The SFV has enjoyed a highly successful partnership with PUMA over a 13 year period,” said the General Secretary of SFV, Alex Miescher.
“And we are thrilled to announce the continuation of this relationship. Puma’s proficiency in developing technical performance playing and training apparel is second to none, and their support in the development of our grass-roots and youth programmes has been instrumental.
“They are the perfect partner for the SFV in every respect, and we very happy to continue with them.”
