December 15 – UEFA and Adidas have agreed a six-year extension to their partnership for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, as well as an agreement for the UEFA Super Cup.

The deal means Adidas will be associated with each competition until the end of the 2017-2018 season.

Adidas match balls will be used in all Champions League matches; a new match ball will be designed each season, with additional designs for each knockout stage until the final.

Adidas will also promote the Champions League and the Europa League through an array of initiatives.

They will supply a product range for both tournaments, Champions League corners in all Adidas shops, special kits for match officials, accessories for the final of each competition, Champions League grassroots programmes and match balls for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final and UEFA Futsal Cup finals.

“We are very pleased that adidas has chosen to renew and further extend its agreement with UEFA for our European club football competitions,” said David Taylor, chief executive of UEFA Events SA.

“This extension proves the strength of our business relationship and ensures that Adidas remains at the heart of European club football.

“Our continued collaboration will bring new opportunities for the promotion of the very best of European football to a worldwide audience.”

Herbert Hainer, chief executive of the Adidas Group, said: “Being associated with the biggest club tournaments in Europe – the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League – will allow us to further strengthen and extend our global football market leadership.”
