April 10 – The biggest supporters group aligned to French club Olympique Marseille has taken the unusual step of urging their team to lose to title challengers Montpellier tomorrow – in order to stop Paris St. Germain (PSG) from clinching the trophy.

Marseille have lost ten of their last 11 games, yet fans want that miserable run to continue for one more outing.

Supporters are desperate to stop bitter rivals PSG winning the title, a scenario that will be more likely if Marseille beat Montpellier.

Currently Montpellier have a superior goal difference, PSG are locked on 63 points with seven games left, while Marseille slipped to ninth after losing 2-1 at PSG on Sunday.

“Let’s give Montpellier the best chance possible and stop PSG becoming champions this year,” the South Winners 87 group posted on their website.
