Janaury 22 – Glo Mobile Ghana has renewed its sponsorship of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for $2.1 million. The funding will support of the Black Stars (national team) and the Ghana Premier League.
This sponsorship follows a similar sum of $2.3 million last year.
Glo Mobile Ghana (GMG) Head of Business, John Vasikaran, said this sponsorship would substantially contribute to the success of the Stars during the Africa Cup of Nations and “uplift their game of football in this soccer-loving country”.
Vasikaran thanked the GFA, the Premier League Board (PLB) and the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) for their fullest cooperation and support in their partnership with GMG and thanked all Ghanaians for the overwhelming love and support shown to the Glo brand, which had enabled the company to reach two million subscriber base since it launched commercial operations eight months ago.
The Vice President of the GFA, Fred Crentsil, thanked the GMG management for their support, saying, “What we have received today will go a long way to ginger the Black Stars.”
Crentsil assured Globacom that the GFA and other football bodies in the country would do whatever they could to ensure that the company was noticed in the country and across the world for their support.
