March 20 – Two FIFA films have been shortlisted for the International Visual Communications Associations Awards (IVCA). The 2013 IVCA awards ceremony take place on March 22 in London.
The two social campaign films are nominated in the categories of Best Charity and Not for Profit Communications, and Best PR. One film features three non-governmental organisations in Cambodia, Colombia and Zambia that are supported by FIFA’s Football for Hope movement, the second film showcases six startling different development projects supported by FIFA.

The 5-minute ‘Changing lives and bringing hope’ films covers three topics where football is being used to engage children and implement education and change. The segments are from Cambodia and its ‘Spirit of Soccer’ that teaches children about how to identify landmines, Colombia and its ‘Colombianitos’ programme that gets kids off the street, and Zambia’s ‘Grassroots Soccer’ programme which is tied to an HIV and health education initiative.
The 10-minute ‘To touch the world and build a better future’ film focuses on FIFA development initiatives, from Grassroots football in Tahiti that is using football to unite the 118 Polynesian islands, to an academy in Nicaragua, futsal in Paraguay, women’s football in Azerbaijan, a health learning programme in Namibia, and a football for prisoners initiative in Makati City Jail in the Philippines.
