June 4 – Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr’s management company, NR Sports, has agreed an image rights deal with the newly established Doyen Group until 2017 following the player’s move from Santos to Barcelona.

Naymar becomes the first client of the Doyen Group, a new sports investment group set up Simon Oliveira and Matthew Kay, who have worked for global sports stars David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewis Hamilton and Jose Mourinho.

Neymar said of the move: ‘I’m pleased to work with Doyen. They will add to my team and we look forward to working with them.’

Simon Oliviera said, ‘We are excited to be working with Neymar Jr, his father and their team. Not only is he a special talent, he has incredible charisma and a desire to work hard to maximise his potential.’

Simon Oliveira has been a key strategist in David Beckham’s team for the last nine years, whilst Matthew Kay was previously at CAA working on the commercial strategy of global sports stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho amongst others.

The signing of Neymar is a significant coup for the new venture which will focus on intellectual property, talent management, angel equity, creative media platforms and brand consultancy.
