June 14 – At the recent E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles, fans had a chance to use Electronic Art’s new FIFA 14 on current-gen platforms while EA provided a peek of what the latest version of the successful gaming franchise will look like on the Xbox One.
FIFA 14 will be launched on September 24 in Europe.
FIFA 14 includes numerous improvements on the previous version, which result from EA Canada and Tiburon collaborating on Ignite – a new games engine.
The new locomotion system provides better shot animations and the new game can even cope with Neymar’s incredible movement. Players are now able to automatically identify incoming tackles and attempt to jump over tackles, whilst the fans in the crowd and now modelled in 3D.
The new version incluides contextual touch controls with over 30 leagues included involving more than 300 teams and 16,000 players.
FIFA 14 Xbox One Executive producer, David Rutter, asked about the effects Xbox/PS4 DRM might have on the new version, told Videogamer: “I have no idea. We’re focused on making the most engaging and fun-to-play game, and I think we’ll try and put it in as many places as we possibly can. We’re as platform-agnostic as you can possibly get and so for us having gamers buy amazing consoles, and for us to make the most amazing game we can, that’s all that I’m bothered about.”
