July 3 – Deutsche Bank have struck a one-year deal with Italian giants Internazionale to become one of the club’s leading sponsors in a partnership which will see the financial service provider become the club’s official bank.
Marco Fassone, general manager of Internazionale, said: “We have a highly reliable partner with whom we can share strategies directed to our fans. Deutsche Bank’s interest in Inter and its new commercial policy which resulted in the signing of this agreement is a demonstration of esteem in our regard.”
Flavio Valeri, chief country officer for Deutsche Bank Italia, also expressed his delight with the new partnership: “It is with great pride that we can announce the start of our partnership with Inter today. This is an important step for our institution: for the first time since we began operating in Italy 30 years ago, we are now the sponsor of a football club. This is a further sign of Deutsche Bank Group’s commitment to Italy.”
The bank will join other club sponsors such as Oknoplast, TIM and Volvo for the start of the 2013-2014 season. There are plans in place to produce a range of branded products such as Inter Milan credit cards.
Whilst Pirelli will continue as the club’s shirt sponsor, Deutsche Bank will have a strong presence at home games along with hospitality rights. No value was released for the sponsorship.
