November 13 – Non-profit organisation CSKA Forever is raising funds via premium short text messages to be used in several ways. The bulk of the money raised will go towards the construction of several small football grounds which will be used by the club’s Academy. Currently young CSKA players train and play matches at different stadiums in Sofia and the surrounding area.
Some funds will also go towards the renovation and reconstruction of one of the stands of CSKA’s stadium Bulgarska armia – Sector G – where traditionally the most loyal supporters of the club sit.
Fans are being encouraged to send an SMS to 17777, containing the text “dms cska”. One text message costs 1 lev (€ 0.50).
CSKA Forever was founded less than two months ago by CSKA’s most famous Bulgarian supporters.
It includes 60 major Bulgarian businessmen, people from the arts, journalists and other figures from public life in the country. The organisation aims to help the club raise funds via different campaigns.
Key to the funding criteria is that the money will not be used for covering the club’s running costs and salaries of the first team players .
Chairman and founder of the organization is Alexander Chakmakov, the son of the legendary first captain of CSKA Sofia Nako Chakmakov.
