November 27 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Executive Committee has approved the format for the AFC Champions League for the next three seasons, with the continuation of the Final being played on a home and away basis.
The AFC also released the number of qualification places national federations will receive for their teams in the 2014 competition.
Japan, Korea Republic, Iran and Saudi Arabia will each receive four direct slots in the group phase of the competition.
It was also confirmed that the AFC Champions League will be played on a zonal basis until the semi-finals for the next three years.
