January 24 – Bloomberg Sports is launching its first weekly TV show this weekend on its own network, Bloomberg TV Africa. Titled Football Dynamics, the show will air three times on Saturdays and repeat twice on Sundays.

The studio-based show is underpinned by Bloomberg Sports own data analytics that will drive the panel discussions.

The studio host will be former CNN International business travel news correspondent, Ayesha Durgahee alongside former Nigeria international Efan Ekoku and BSports contributors – British football journalists Ben Lyttleton and Dave Farrar.

The 50-week a year show will look at stand out performances of the week across the top five European leagues and will include a ‘Road to Rio’ World Cup segment tracking the campaigns of the five African nations who have qualified. Their prospects will be continually be assessed using BSports projections.

Bloomberg TV Africa, part of the Optima Media Group, produces business programming available across the African continent via Bloomberg’s English-language EMEA feed. Chairman Rotimi Pedro said: “Bloomberg TV Africa is proud to be working with Bloomberg Sports on a joint venture that will reach 220 million households across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including 38 African countries.”

“Football Dynamics will combine all the assets of BSports in-performance analytics and advanced match forecasting to create a show that merges the most important data and opinions in football with an emphasis on Africa,” said Bill Squadron, president of Bloomberg Sports.

Bloomberg Sports, launched in 2010, has been building a position in European football with its ‘Match Analysis’ predictive and analytic tool forecasting game results, and its ‘Stats Insights’ blog. The company has had particular success in the US with its professional products for teams, broadcasters and athletes including a comprehensive baseball scouting, data and video system now used by almost all Major League Baseball clubs.
