February 5 – Israeli technology specialist Evento have signed a deal with Kroenke Sports Entertainment to launch its SitNearMe social media ticketing application for Kroenke’s sports francjsies including MLS team and the Colorado Rapids.
The app is already live with Kroenke’s NBA franchise, the Denver Nuggets, at https://www.facebook.com/DenverNuggets. The app will go live with the Rapids at the start of the MLS season in March.
SitNearMe is a Facebook app that sits within the Facebook canvas. The app enables fans to book seats and purchase tickets without leaving the Facebook platform. It works using a socially smart seating map which links Facebook users’ profiles to their seats and enables their friends to see where they are sitting.
SitNearMe uses API integration that syncs directly into an event owner’s existing ticketing system enabling the event owner to turn large social media communities into potential ticket buyers.
The app also has analytical tools that identify influencers and help turn casual fans into brand ambassadors.
“The data has always told us that Facebook users generally want to stay within the four walls of Facebook – to upload photos, comment on posts, scroll through status updates, share funny memes or interesting videos or breaking news – rather than viewing and interacting with content on external sites,” said Jared Harding, director, social media and digital marketing, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.
“Now our fans will be able to buy tickets to our games through our official ticketing partner, Altitude Tickets, all without leaving Facebook.”

Evento has signed deals with the Israeli Football Association for National Team and National Cup matches as well with leading Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. The company is currently discussing with several leading European clubs and federations regarding launching the SitNearMe app in European football.
