February 28 – The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) and the Czech Republic (FACR) have renewed a signed a Memorandum of Understanding committing the two federations to co-operate and share expertise across a range of football related areas from administration to development and facilities.

The new three-year deal was signed at the UAEFA headquarters in Al Khawaneej by UAEFA president Yousuf Al Serkal (pictured) and general secretary Yousuf Abdullah with their FACR counterparts president Pelta Miroslav and general secretary Repka Rudolf.

UAEFA has similar partnerships with the Spanish, Italy, German and Japanese federations.

The new deal commits the two governing bodies to sharing experience and expertise to develop the game, covering the coaching, youth and women’s football, refereeing, the organisation of competitions, administration, marketing, media and social responsibility, as well as sports science, medicine and construction.

Both countries will also make use of each other’s facilities for training camps, and friendlies will be organised between clubs and national teams at every age-group level.

Al Serkal said: “We want to improve and we look for experience from all over the world. We don’t want to remain as we are. We know we have reached a point of development, but we are seeking for more through the experience and expertise of others.”
