March 12 – FIFA has opened on-line sales for another 345,000 World Cup tickets. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first saved basis.
Tickets are available for all matches excluding the opening match in Sao Paulo, the semi finals in Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo, or the final in the Maracana in Rio. The sales window closes 1 April.
FIFA says it expects demand to be very high. Ticket availability per match can be see at www.FIFA.com/tickets and which will be updated constantly once sales start.
The number of tickets is on sale this round is higher than the 160,000 originally announced due to ticket returns from sponsors and the hospitality programme, as well as unpaid tickets from the previous sales phase.
FIFA has emphasised that ticket buyers must have enough funds to complete payment and that FIFA.com is the only online sales platform for tickets for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
