Blatter calls Rousseff to say it will all be OK, in fact better than that

Blatter and Rousseff

April 14 – Sepp Blatter has apparently told Brazil’s president Dilma Rousseff that the World Cup will be the most successful ever – even though three stadiums are still not ready.

Rousseff spoke on the phone for 10 minutes to the FIFA president late last week and was told that at that point 2.5 million tickets had been sold, 75% of the total available.

“Blatter told the president he is ‘certain that the World Cup will be the most successful of all time’,” Rousseff’s office wrote in a blog.

Three months ago, Blatter told a Swiss newspaper no country had ever been so behind schedule in organising a World Cup in all the years he had been at FIFA but is clearly taking a diplomatic line when it comes to dealing with the Brazilian authorities themselves.
