April 17 – Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia has repaid debts in excess of 1 million leva (€500,000) in order to meet club license requirements. The debts were accumulated under the former ownership of Titan AS.

The Reds have transferred payments to more than 34 former players, coaches, players’ agents and staff of the club.

The club listed on its website the names and amounts paid – in almost all cases payments were for unpaid wages in 2013

The highest amount owed to a player was to goalkeeper Tomas Cherny – BGN85 000 (€42,500) . The Czech was a regular in the first team until, after requesting his money, he lost his place in the team.

The largest amount paid out was to players’ agent Mariano Bizzarri – €76,430. This amount was reviewed by FIFA and found to be a legitimate dent. Moreover CSKA also paid a SFr22,000 fine for not paying the agent.

The total amount paid out is 1,003,723.00 million leva (€501,861), but the club says that it has actually repaid more debts .

“The list does not include payments to individuals for whom there is a clause of confidentiality and current payments for cases. All the payments related to the license are paid at 100%,” said a club statement.

CSKA’s management thanked the “true proven Reds” for their patience and compromises.
