May 29 – The Bulgarian Football Union has signed a new multi-year contract with the Spanish sports appareil firm Joma. The company will kit out all of Bulgaria’s national teams and replaces Italian sportswear brand Kappa, whose contract was terminated terminated by mutual consent.

This is the first move by Joma into national team sponsorship. The partnership between the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) and Joma was officially announced at a press conference at the BFU’s headquarters in Sofia.

In the recent years, Joma has made in-roads into the Bulgarian market with several clubs from Bulgaria’s top division already working with the Spanish company.

The last team to join the Joma line-up was Levski Sofia, one Bulgaria’s biggest clubs. Joma has developed a commemorative range of appareil and equipment for the club’s 100th anniversary.

No financial details of the deal between Joma and the BFU were released.
