July 31 – Honduras is to host the CONCACAF U17 boys championship in February next year. Meanwhile the confederation has announce that the crucial 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, the regional qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada next year will be played in four host cities in the United States: Chicago, Kansas City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Two stadiums in San Pedro Sula will host the 12-team competition from February 27 – March 14. Group stage games will be played in both the Estadio Olímpico and Estadio General Francisco Morazán, with the final rounds to be contested at the Estadio Olimpico.

Four teams will qualify for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup Chile 2015. The two finalists plus two more from the second and third-placed teams from each of the six team groups. They will be regrouped into a four-team table, with the top team from that table playing the fourth-ranked team, and the second-ranked team playing the third-ranked nation.

“CONCACAF has produced some world class youth sides throughout the years, with Mexico’s under-17s lifting the World Cup twice in recent years,” said CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb. “We’re looking forward to seeing the next champions emerge from next year’s competition in Honduras – a country passionate about its football. I’m sure this will be a great Under-17 Championship.”

The 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship will take place from October 15-26, and features eight countries divided into two groups of four, with the top two finishers in each group after round-robin play advancing to the semifinals. Three teams qualify directly to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, with a fourth earning a play off against a Conmebol representative.
