September 15 – For the third consecutive year, several of Asia’s most promising coaches are attending a two-week course at the English FA’s state-of-the-art national football centre, St. George’s Park, until the end of this month as part of its international bursary scheme.
The coaches have been nominated by the Asian Football Development Project, a non-for-profit charity launched in January 2012 which strives to create grass-roots programmes in a raft of countries, using football as a genuine tool for social change and development.
“The Football Associations’s international bursary scheme has enabled us to further empower aspiring coaches from Bhutan, Jordan, Philippines and now India and Vietnam which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of football in Asia as a whole,” said AFDP Chairman Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein.
“We highly value the support of the Football Association not only for the wealth of knowledge and expertise provided by this prestigious programme but also for welcoming our coaches with such hospitality and generosity.”
