October 16 – The International Football Arena (IFA) has released details of October 30 Berlin conference programme, themed ‘Football’s Digital Transformation’.
The Berlin event is the first time IFA has been to Germany and the organiser reports that there are only a few spaces left to participate. Last minute applications can be made at http://www.internationalfootball.com/ifa-conferences/upcomming-conferences/ifa-conference-berlin-october-30th-2014
IFA has become one of the most influential meeting points on the football conference calendar with its invitation-only format. Its traditional Autumn event in Zurich is again being held in FIFA’s auditorium – this year in early December.
For the Berlin meeting FA has opted for a fast paced schedule with topics generally slotted into 30-minute slots, starting a discussion on ‘The secret of Cristiano Ronaldo’s domination in social media’ with Luis Correia of Gestifute.
Other topics include how to find the next football superstar on the internet, and a shot at answering the increasingly asked question: Will the football industry ever make a profit from the social media hype.
The final two sessions focus on content, firstly with a look and ‘Sports and Journalism’ with media giant Axel Springer’s Dr. Andreas Wiele; followed by a panel titled ‘Sports journalism in the age of digital media’.
