Rumours mount of AC Milan links to Hong Kong billionaire

Barbara Berlusconi

October 28 – The presence of Hong Kong-based businessman Richard Lee with Silvio and Barbara Berlusconi (pictured) at AC Milan’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Sunday has sparked media speculation of a China link for the Rossoneri.

AC Milan is reportedly looking for an investment partner who would be willing to take a minority stake of up to 30% in the club and Lee may be acting as an intermediary for Chinese investors, with a meeting having been scheduled between the billionaire and Barbara Berlusconi for Monday.

One idea that has been floated is to replicate the recently opened Casa Milan in China.

Richard Lee is best known in Italy for distribution of Italian luxury brands such as Ferrari, Moschino and Maserati in China. He is CEO and Chairman of China Premium Lifestyle Enterprise Inc.

Since Silvio Berlusconi’s daughter Barbara took over as commercial director, AC Milan have been actively looking to develop relations in the Middle and Far East in order to diversify revenue streams.
