November 7 – German sportswear company Puma has extended its contract with the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) for a further four years from January 2015.

The new contract will see Puma, who have been linked to the Ivory Coast since the 2005 qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations and the 2006 World Cup, continue as technical supplier and official partner of the FIF.

FIF President Sidy Diallo made the announcement that Puma would remain the technical supplier to the Ivory Coast saying: “They not only supply us with great kits and performance wear for our teams that embody our African spirit through bold colours and striking graphics, but also support our values and aspirations.

“The commercial and marketing activations they develop on our behalf also bring us significant value and exposure. We are extremely satisfied to extend with Puma.”

Christian Voigt, Senior Head of Global Sports Marketing at Puma commented: “Puma has a special relationship with African football, and we are very pleased to renew our contract with the Côte d’Ivoire Football Federation.

“This partnership is very important for Puma as we continue to strengthen our position in the sport.

“Les Éléphants are a major force in African football and the Côte d’Ivoire has some incredible talent in football, Yaya Touré being one notable example.

We look forward to continuing this blossoming partnership in the years to come.”

Ivory Coast are currently 25th on the FIFA ranking and 2nd in Africa after Algeria.
