February 25 – The hunt for Chelsea’s racist fans has been stepped up with British Transport Police having now issued pictures of seven men they want to question in connection with racist chanting at St Pancras International railway station last Wednesday February 18.
The incident happened at 8pm, 24 hours after a similar incident on the Paris Metro when a black man was subjected to racist chants and prevented from boarding a train by Chelsea fans.
The St Pancras images have been released as part of the investigation into the incident that happened as Chelsea fans were returning to London following their Champions League match with Paris Saint Germain.
Detective Sergeant Steven Graysmark said: “I want anyone who knows the men in the photographs to come forward. I believe the seven, thought to be Chelsea fans, can help us with the investigation.
“Do you know any of the men in the images? If so, please contact BTP.”
Chelsea has already suspended a number of people from attending home games following an internal investigation.
“If it is deemed there is sufficient evidence of their involvement in the incident the club will issue banning orders for life,” the English Premier League leaders said in a statement.
