Hankook re-treads for another 3 years of Europa League

June 17 – South Korea-based Hankook, one of the world’s biggest tyre production companies, has renewed its sponsorship of the UEFA Europa League for a further three years it was announced on Tuesday.

The new deal, which begins on July 1 and extends until after the 2018 Europa League final, builds on Hankook’s previous sponsorship of the competition, with Hankook due to benefit from additional brand exposure including increased perimeter board advertising in the stadiums and media backdrops during player interviews and official UEFA press conferences.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director of UEFA Events SA (the UEFA subsidiary dealing with commercial and event operations), commented on the announcement saying: “We are delighted to be announcing that Hankook has renewed its sponsorship of the UEFA Europa League. Hankook has been a valued partner over the past three seasons, and we look forward to continuing this partnership. By working together, we hope to help Hankook further engage its customers and employees worldwide in the excitement of the UEFA Europa League each season.”

Together, Hankook and the UEFA Europa League will continue to bring the excitement and emotion of football to fans across Europe.”

Hankook now becomes an official partner of the UEFA Europa League alongside UniCredit and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. FedEx is the official main partner and adidas is the official supplier to the tournament for the 2015-18 period.

TEAM Marketing AG, who as UEFA’s exclusive marketing agency negotiated the deal with Hankook, are understood to have one more partner in the pipeline for the competition, expected to be announced soon.
