June 22 – New Balance has continued its football expansion with the launch of the new 2015/16 FC Porto home kit as well as the global debut of the clothing company’s first football boots, the Visaro.
New Balance has taken over from Warrior Football, who entered the football market in 2012. New Balance is the parent company of Warrior Football and has taken Warrior’s kit deals with Liverpool and Celtic as well as Portugal’s Porto.
Porto is Portugal’s most decorated club and the new kit design is meant to reflect its tradition, according to a press statement which says: “The home kit is built upon both tradition and innovation. The iconic stripes of FC Porto, coupled with a fashion inspired mini stripe to the back and side panel gives a striking design aesthetic. Club colours of Oporto blue and white with a subtle hint of orange frame the jersey whilst maintaining a natural balance.”
The kit incorporates the latest NB Dry and NB Flex technologies .
The New Balance Visaro Boot is New Balance’s first football boot after the Boston-based company officially entered the football market in February 2015.
The Visaro boots will be worn by New Balance’s roster of players including Vincent Kompany, Marouane Fellaini, Adnan Januzaj, Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsey.
