Liverpool open up Aussie tour training sessions with proceeds going to charities

Liverpool in Australia

June 24 – Liverpool have opened up ticket sales to two opening training sessions on the Australian leg of their pre-season tour next month with the revenue going towards local charities and the club’s official charity.

The first open training session will be held in Brisbane on Thursday 16 July at the Suncorp Stadium and the second session will be held in Adelaide on Sunday 19 July at Coopers Stadium. Tickets are priced at A$20 for adults, A$10 for children and concessions.

Liverpool play Brisbane Roar on July 17 and Adelaide United on July 20.

Proceeds raised will support local charities including Royal Society for the Blind, The Smith Family, The Reagan Milstein Foundation, CanTeen and The Big Issue as well as supporting the club’s official charity, Liverpool FC Foundation.

More than 95,000 watched Liverpool play Australian A League team Melbourne Victory at the iconic MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) stadium on their last trip to Australia in July 2013. That Liverpool team included Stephen Gerrard and Luis Suarez and came out easy 2-0 winners.

The 2015 pre-season tour starts in Thailand, against the True All Stars, on July 14, before headin to Australia. On the return leg Liverpool will stop off in Kuala Lumpur to play a Malaysian XI at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Friday July 24.
