July 30 – Bulgarian champions Ludogorets are building for the future and have launched a new stage in the modernisation of their training facilities, just a few months after the club from Razgrad opened a new grandstand at its stadium.
The club is to expand its training base with owner Kiril Domuschiev investing another BGN10 million (€5 million) for the renovation and modernisation of facility in Razgrad.
The first phase of construction was completed in 2011 and cost BGN 10 million. Earlier this year Ludogorets received nearly BGN5 million (€ 2,5 million) from the state after the club, together with the municipality of Razgrad, won funding from the government programme ‘Growth and Sustainable Development of the Regions’.
It is expected that the renovation and modernisation of the club’s facilities will be completed at the beginning of next year.
The Ludogorets training camp will include five new football fields, four of which will be natural grass and one of which will be an artificial surface. All areas will have irrigation systems and lighting. The site will also be the venue for Academy matches with the main pitch having a roofed stand for about 500 people.
