With Ronaldo and Karim Benzema out injured, and manager Rafael Benitez looking to blood a number of new and youth players, Spurs have an opportunity to take a significant scalp prior to their trip to old Trafford for their opening Premier League fixture this Sunday.
But before then, Spurs and Real Madrid will play either Bayern Munich or AC Milan on Wednesday in the final matches of the Audi Cup.

Bayern and Milan have played each other six time with AC Milan having won four of them. The other two matches were friendlies which ended as a draw and a win for Bayern. Bayern will be favourites today as Milan are very much in a rebuilding process after finishing a lowly 12th in Serie A last season.
Bayern manager Pep Guardiola could give first start to new signing Arturo Vidal, and is expected to include Juan Bernat and Mario Gotze in his opening line-up.
Robert Lewandowski will likely lead the line with Thomas Muller in support. Bayern will be looking for some winning form after losing the German SuperCup last weekend.
For Milan new Brazilian signings Bacca and Adriano are both expected to start while Ricardo Montolivo is also pushing for a start after returning from injury. Nigel de Jong, Alex and Suso all look certain to be in the starting team.
