August 4 – With the new Premier League season kicking off this weekend, Norwich City have announced a new sponsorship deal with bookmaker Coral whilst West Bromwich Albion have signed a one year betting partnership with NetBet.
Norwich have unveiled the new sponsorship deal with bookmaker Coral who will be the club’s official betting partner and which will also see Coral sponsor the Barclay Stand at the Premier League club’s Carrow Road stadium.
This is the first time the 6,000 seater stand, built in 1935 and housing the canaries most vociferous fans, has been sponsored and will see it labelled as the ‘Barclay Stand sponsored by Coral’.
Norwich City’s chief executive, David McNally, said: “This is a major partnership for the club as we re-enter the Premier League stage. We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Coral on board as our official betting partner and the first-ever sponsors of the Barclay Stand.
“It’s a stand close to the hearts of Norwich fans everywhere, so it was vitally important to us to find a partner who would honour and celebrate the heritage of the Barclay with us in such a positive way, while also offering some exciting benefits for the 6,000-plus loyal members of the Yellow Army who sit there on a match day and of course all our other fans.”
Brand director of Coral, Matt Prevost, promised Canaries fans “some excellent betting offers both online, on mobile, in-shop and through our in-stadia betting kiosks at Carrow Road.”
Meanwhile NetBet have signed a one-year betting partnership with West Bromwich Albion giving the online betting operator access to stadium advertising and the pitchside LED system.
Albion’s Sales and Marketing Director, Adrian Wright commented on the deal saying, “NetBet are one of the most ambitious sports business stakeholders in Europe and an increasing force in the UK betting market. They share the same ambitions as our Club, and we are delighted they chose the Baggies to be partnered with. NetBet, due to their size in Europe, also presents a strategic opportunity for the Club in this zone and we look forward to working with such a creative brand in this sector to the mutual benefit of both of our brands.”
NetBet Marketing Manager, Alexandre Mangaud, said: “We’re very proud to be partnered with West Bromwich Albion ahead of the forthcoming season. Their outstanding performances on the field last campaign show this Club is going places, and to be a part of their journey for the next 12 months gives us a great sense of pride. The club has 137 years of history and tradition, and we are so pleased to be partnered with a football club with the same objectives as ourselves: to strive to compete at every level.”
NetBet have West Brom at 5/1 to be relegated and 33/10 to be the top Midlands club whilst Coral are considerably less optimistic about the prospects for their partner giving odds of 5/4 on Norwich going down at the end of the 2015-16 season.
