August 4 – In a bid to introduce more transparency into the country’s football league, the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has decided to limit the number of clubs where officials can work to two per season.
The latest measure was introduced by the FRF as a response to former footballer Narcis Raducan (pictured) managing a total of four local sides in Liga I, Romania’s top tier, in a single season.
Between August and September 2014, Raducan served as the general manager of FC Viitorul, following which he was appointed to the same position at Concordia Chiajna. In October 2014, the official moved to Astra Giurgiu, where he served as president, and in January 2015, Raducan joined ASA Targu Mures, accepting the same position at the club.
In the newly-adopted regulation, the executive committee of the Romanian federation said that, “during the season, an official who is in a position which allows him to exert an influence over the decisions made by the club, i.e. as its president, manager, executive director etc., cannot perform such an activity in more than two clubs in the same league.”
