August 25 – What happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room, so the saying goes. But sometimes it spills over into the tunnel. Now Manchester City will bring all the tunnel action to fans via a user-controlled 360˚ Tunnel Cam that will broadcast via the club’s official YouTube channel.

Whether Man City will edit the spicier tunnel encounters remains to be seen but for the first time fans will have “access and control of behind-the-scenes footage from within the Etihad Stadium tunnel before, during and after selected match-day games”, said a club press release.

Tunnel Cam is the first 360˚ rotating camera in a football club’s tunnel and can be controlled by YouTube viewers who rotate the camera to give them live pictures of pre-pitch handshakes and greetings before the game and the reactions of the two teams when they return to the changing rooms at half-time and full-time.

The first 360˚ video, filmed during Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, is available now on Manchester City’s official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjoVzg7dKn4

The 360˚ Tunnel Cam will be in action for Manchester City’s Premier League home fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. Let’s hope the Tunnel Cam editors will let us see the warm welcome Ryan Sterling will undoubtedly give to his former Liverpool team mates.
