Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 12.16.07September 18 – Brazil, South Africa, Portugal, Costa Rica, Ukraine, Chile, Mexico, Romania are in contention for the Homeless World Cup men’s competition as the Trophy Stage begins today and completes tomorrow. Chile, Scotland, Norway, India, Hungary, Argentina, Denmark and Mexico will contest the Women’s World Cup.

The Trophy Stage is a single-elimination round, which will conclude with the final matches being played on 19 September. All teams will play three games in this round in order to determine final tournament ranking.

Being played in the heart of Amsterdam’s cultural centre, the Museumplein (home to three major museums – the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk Museum – and the concert hall Concertgebouw), the men’s and women’s tournaments tournaments have featured 72 national teams.

Played across three pitches – lined with state-of-the-art synthetic turf courtesy of Act Global – broadcast from the tournament are of the show pitch.

Play begins at 11am GMT each day and goes through to 7pm. The finals on Saturday September 19 will be played at 5.45pm.

The event is free to watch and there is an option for donation which goes straight to supporting their foundation and cause. The donation mechanism is set up inside the video player and is voluntary.
