Neymar and Gillette

September 24 – Brazil and FC Barcelona star Neymar has signed new personal sponsorship deals with Gillette in Latin America and Replay.

Brazil’s boy wonder has been racking up the marketing and sponsorships deals on the back of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in his native country and his increased international exposure at FC Barcelona.

His Nike and Beats By Dre commercials were among his most high-profile and profitable endorsements. Forbes estimates Neymar will earn $75 million, including his salary, over the next five years. He is the second most marketable sports athlete in the world, according to SportsPro’s 2015 list.

Following in the footsteps of David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammate Lions Messi, Neymar has become a marketing juggernaut. He has now become a brand ambassador for Gillette in Latin America.

“I have always liked looking after myself and creating new styles for myself,” said Neymar. “It’s something that gives me confidence, and prepares me for challenges on and off the field. Gillette is a brand that is known for its precision and always looks for the best, something that I look for in my game.”

The precise terms of Neymar’s deal with Gilette were not unveiled.

Neymar has also signed a personal endorsement deal with Replay. The Barcelona forward, who is currently appearing in a campaign for the denim brand as part of its sponsorship of his club side, has agreed terms until 2018. As well as being a face of Replay’s marketing efforts, he will launch a personal ‘NJR’ collection.

“[I am] pleased that our brand is related to a person as talented as Neymar, a great champion and an icon,” said Replay chief executive Matteo Sinigaglia.

“When Matteo offered me this project, I did not hesitate a moment to accept because they do not want to lose the opportunity to represent a brand that fits so well to my style,” said Neymar.

Neymar is excelling for both club and country. He scored goals against Atletico Madrid and Levante for FC Barcelona this season as the Catalans maintain a perfect unbeaten record in La Liga after four match days. He is also the lynchpin of the Brazilian national team, who start their qualifying campaign for the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup in October.
