October 1 – Premier League attendances for Round 7 topped last week’s figures with the 10 home matches averaging 96.5% stadium capacity, the second highest since the opening day of the season. Stoke City had just one seat unfilled at the Britannia Stadium.
Over the whole weekend there were just 12,186 seats unfilled out of a total of 386,079 available across the country.
All 10 clubs reported over 90% stadium capacity, with seven of them over 97% full. Stoke led the way in terms of percentage of capacity filled followed by West Ham and Manchester United.
Manchester United had just 407 unfilled seats in their 75,731 capacity Old Trafford stadium. Spurs had just 417 unfilled seats for their resurgent win over then league leaders Manchester City.
Newcastle United delivered their highest crowd of the season for the 2-2 draw with Chelsea, but still had 3,723 unfilled seats.
The Insideworldfootball stats are taken from the club’s reported attendance figure. They do not take account of tickets that might have been sold but the ticket holder did not turn up. Also, for some games stadiums will have slightly reduced capacities due to media and safety requirements.
