October 28 – The global expansion of the City Football Group (CFG) is not just with team ownership but is also coming with a boosting of local presence of its business operations.

This week CFG has formally launched City Football Singapore which will be part of City Football Marketing, the commercial arm of CFG. The Singapore business will be led by Director, Damian Willoughby, reporting into Group Commercial Director, Omar Berrada.

CFG headquarters are in Manchester but it has offices in Abu Dhabi, London, New York, Melbourne, Tokyo and now Singapore. Its clubs are Manchester City FC, New York City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama F· Marinos.

The Singapore office is evidence of the rapidly expanding commercial side of the business, and will oversee commercial operations in South East Asia, working closely with a number of CFG’s global and regional partners, including Singha, Nexen Tire, QNET, SHB and Jiwasraya.

Omar Berrada, Group Commercial Director, City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of City Football Singapore, which consolidates our commercial presence in South East Asia. Football continues to grow across the region and attract fantastic and passionate support. We saw this first-hand when Manchester City played in Vietnam in pre-season.

“We have been working with well-loved brands across the region for some time. City Football Singapore gives us a permanent home from which we can work with our partners to manage and activate those relationships, as well as helping us to continue to expand.”

City Football Group is wholly owned by Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG). ADUG is an investment and development company privately owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
