October 29 – Rejuvenated Inter Milan who currently top Italy’s Serie A after a 1-0 win over Bologna are reporting chart topping attendance records.
So far this season, Inter home matches have twice broken the Italian gate receipt record for a domestic match in Serie A. The Milan derby on September 13 saw a capacity
crowd of 79,154 set a new Italian gate receipt record of €3,671,078.
This record was broken against Juventus on October 18 when another sell-out crowd at the San Siro set yet another gate receipt record of €3,740,051.
This weekend the Nerazzurri are at home to AS Roma who they are one point ahead of in the league. Ticket sales are currently over 50,000 with final sales expected to be over 55,000.
The club has revamped its commercial operation under new majority shareholder Erick Thohir, and CEO Michael Bolingbroke.
Sales offices have been opened in Jakarta, Indonesia, covering the Asia Pacific region, and in Washington DC, USA, covering north, central and south America.
New sponsorship deals with Jiuxian and Indosat in Asia are early fruits of a more expansive sales approach and the club says that a third deal will be announced soon.
