November 27 – Liverpool, frequently derided by local Evertonian rivals for having its match day support flown in from Scandinavia, has launched a new community initiative with its first LFC Foundation Day to support the Club’s official charity.
The day will take place on December 13, the club’s last home fixture before Christmas against West Brom and will feature a variety of fund raising activities with all money raised going into the Foundation’s community programmes including its men’s health programme, and educational and football development programmes like Respect 4 All which provides sporting activity for young people and adults with severe physical and neurological impairments.
Andrea Cooper, Head of the LFC Foundation said: “We are delighted to be able to auction such unique prizes and are extremely grateful for the support of the First Team.”
Activities on the day will include free skills and drills challenges and coaching sessions at Anfield Sports and Community Centre, and a blind penalty shootout against a Liverpool FC Legend in the Family Park on Anfield Road.
A number of money-can’t-buy items will be auctioned at charitystars.com with prizes including a game of golf for two with Liverpool FC vice-captain James Milner, dinner with Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
The Foundation will also host two online raffles with prizes including matchday experiences and a chance to win dinner with the First Team Manager Jürgen Klopp.
