Hammers keep nailing top spot, Man Utd, Arsenal, Norwich and Leicester close

West Ham bubbles

By Paul Nicholson
January 27 – Five of the Premier League home teams recorded stadiums over 99% full for Round 23. West Ham again topped the table with just 39 seats unfilled. At the top five games there were less than 1,100 seats left unfilled.

Man Utd and Arsenal again showed how well they use their stadia with capacities of over 70,000 and over 60,000 there were only 323 and 360 empty seats. These are likely to be no-shows rather than unsold seats.

Norwich continue to sell out despite being involved in the relegation battle, while top of the league Leicester City fans are enjoying their time lording it over the traditional league leading clubs at the King Power stadium.

Premier League clubs have now filled more than 8.3 million seats this season, an average capacity of 95.6%.

Only one team, Sunderland, filled less than 90% of capacity in Round 23, with 7,633 seats unfilled. That figure was almost half the 16.691 unfilled seats for all clubs.

The stats are taken from reported crowd figures and do not take into account any seat kills for security reasons or for increased media facilities.
