May 26 – Image rights negotiations are reportedly delaying Jose Mourinho’s imminent appointment as Manchester United manager.
The BBC is reporting that his previous club Chelsea still own his name as a trademark and could demand a six-figure sum before any deal is concluded.
Mourinho is on the verge of being named as Louis van Gaal’s replacement after the Dutchman was sacked on Monday despite winning the FA Cup.
Meanwhile reports are rife that Mourinho’s first stellar signing could be Zlatan Ibrahimovic who would arrive from Paris Saint-Germain.
Ibrahimovic and Mourinho worked together when they were both at Internazionale and the Swedish superstar, still a world-class striker at 34, is a free agent.
