June 21 – The Premier League has renewed its TV production partnership with IMG that sees more than 200,000 hours of programming broadcast globally. The two will continue to operate via Premier League Productions (PLP) for another three seasons to the end of 2018/19.
PLP is the production cornerstone of the Premier League’s tv offering to international broadcasters, producing and distributing TV content to more than 730 million homes in 225 broadcast territories.
Content includes all 380 Premier League matches, seven magazine shows, and a seven-day news content service that broadcasters can run as a full channel.
Under the new deal PLP will add extra programming including Goal Rush and a Fantasy programme which will provide in-depth analysis of the League’s Fantasy Premier League game. There will also be an extension to the clips channel, which provides pre-match and in-game clips of all major incidents.
Paul Molnar, Director of Broadcasting at the Premier League, said: “Over the past twelve years we have worked very well with IMG Media to evolve and develop our international production offering. That service, under the umbrella of Premier League Productions, has been an asset to all of our broadcast partners and we are pleased to be extending this relationship for another three years.”
