August 18 – Online sportsbook Tempobet has increased its Premier League sponsorship portfolio with a deal to become a partner of newly-promoted Middlesbrough. The company is already a regional partner of Manchester City.
The Middlesbrough deal is significant for the bookie as it gives it a significant sponsorship position in the UK in top tier football. The company has signed Roberto Carlos as a brand ambassador.
No figure has been announced for the sponsorship which will see Tempobet’s logo on the Middlesbrough training kit and the firm designated as the Official In-stadia Betting Partner.
Tempobet will also have advertising at the Middlesbrough’s Riverside ground as well as access to a range of club’s assets and use of its logo on its own website and marketing assets.
Tempobet managing director, Mark Clayton, said: “We’re delighted to have teamed up with Middlesbrough on their return to the Premier League and are very excited about working closely in partnership with them.
“Like us, the club is ambitious and eager to do well this season. I’m confident this deal will not only be good for their supporters but will also help us promote our compelling and highly competitive sports betting offering.”
Founded in 2007, Tempobet specialises in developing markets offering a comprehensive live betting service, as well as casino, virtual games, binary options, and lottery. It is now turning its attention to opportunities in the UK market and has also taken the shirt sponsorship of Championship club Burton Albion.
Lee Fryett, Head of Partnerships at Middlesbrough, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Tempobet to the Riverside, which is hosting Premier League football again this season.
“We’re looking forward to working with the brand to help them grow awareness and spread the word about their sports betting offering.”
