October 6 – Malta-based Daily Fantasy Football (DFS) company Oulala is expanding in to Latin America, initially targeting Argentinean clubs with a white label version of its platform.
Oulala’s white label solution offer a full game programme allowing players to form their fantasy line-ups for every game day, join or create leagues and then compete against their friends or other users to win real money.
DFS players score points based on more than 70 different criteria and the game has what Oulala says is a unique ‘live coaching’ feature, which enables users to make real-time changes to their fantasy line-ups.
Focussing on Argentina initially, Oulala says it plans to white label its platforms into Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The company recently expanded into Australasia and the Indian sub-continent.
In Argentina, Oulala is partnering with entrepreneur Sebastian Pinot. ”Fantasy sports are unregulated in Argentina, and the country has a huge fantasy sports fan base for football,” said Pino.
”An estimated 90% of Argentines consider themselves fans of a football club, making it a hotspot for DFS. We calculate there being around 2 million people in Argentina who have already played fantasy sports games.”
Latin America does not have a developed fantasy sports market in the way that the US and Europe is developing. By being in the marketplace early Oulala is expecting to establish a competitive advantage and player base.
Oulala’s CEO Valery Bollier said: ”LATAM markets are incredibly competitive, with very few operators, so I think that our interactive platform with live in-play features is a perfect alternative for Daily Fantasy Football fans. Let’s not forget those who are accustomed to sports betting and are simply looking for a different product that allows them to really put their skills to the test.”
