November 14 – The past week has not been the most productive week for Twitter follower gains in the Premier League with attention focussed on World Cup qualifiers.
The total number of tweets across Premier League clubs were down overall by 50% with 2,374 this week compared to 4,775 last week.
The weekly increase in total followers was also down this week – 182,000 from last week’s 215,000. This is only a 15% reduction showing just how strong the natural growth in twitter followers each week is despite twitter activity.

West Ham were the second most active with Liverpool in thirs place.
Man Utd only made 130 tweets to get 51,000 new followers!
It has been a table topping week for Man Utd off the field. A new Sporting Intelligence survey found the club pays the highest wages in world football with an average basic first-team wage of £5.77 million or £110,962 per week.
